What does a pre- and post-natal fitness expert want for Christmas?
For the first time in as long as I can remember, it’s a week before Christmas and I’m actually feeling pretty organised. The tree is up, almost all the presents have been bought and wrapped; which is not only an absolute miracle for me but also a huge relief that I won’t have to run the gauntlet of Oxford Street madness on Christmas Eve!
Most importantly though, my Christmas list has been sent to Santa in plenty of time to reach the North Pole. Just to be sure I keep the big guy on side, I'm baking mince pies as we speak to leave by the fire (well, dining table if I’m honest! but I’m sure he’ll work it out) along with a large glass of sherry to keep his energy levels up on the busiest night of the year.
Here’s a sneak peak at my wish list….
A Swish New Ski Outfit
At number five, I wish for the beautiful Sweaty Betty Ski Transition Merino top and leggings. Not only does it look the bee's knees but Merino wool is thermo-regulating, so it reacts to changes in your body temperature, keeping you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot. So whether you’re skiing the French Alps, trekking the Welsh Mountains or just curled up in front of the fire this is the outfit to do it in.
Become a Kegel Master
My next wish is to reach the advanced programme on my Elvie – although I coach clients every day on the importance of a strong and functioning pelvic floor, I make sure I practise what I preach! Although I’m almost at the advanced level, there is always room for improvement!
Next on list is some seriously fancy footwear, and I am a HUGE trainers fan. I pretty much live in them, to the point that, much to my other half’s displeasure, my wardrobe is overflowingwith more trainers than heels!
I’ve just discovered these super funky embroidered glitter trainers by Markus Lupfer. I think they speak for themselves – who says you can’t wear a party dress and trainers when they look as cool as this?! I'll definitely be giving Lily Allen a run for her money.
A Spot of Magic
Now everyone needs a bit of magic in their lives and I’m hoping that Santa will bring me the book that everyone’s been talking about: Big Magic. It’s by Elizabeth Gilbert, author of one of my other fave books Eat Pray Love.
Inspired by her own personal journey, Elizabeth encourages us to stop fearing and start being more creative, to enjoy life with a passion, face our fears and embrace what we love. Sounds like the perfect book to start the New Year if you ask me.
A trip for two
And if I haven’t quite used up all of my gift credits with the above, then Santa I would really love it if finally, you could whisk me and my man away to St Lucia for a New Year’s break with The Body Holiday.
After a super busy year of establishing my new business it’s been a crazy 12 months! Thankfully, hard work and perseverance have started to pay off, so I can't of a better way to celebrate than with some serious R&R in the idyllic Caribbean rejuvenating my body and mind.
Since my man has been there to high five me through the ups, hug me through the downs and everything else in between; I feel it only fair that he gets a ticket too!
Louise founded her business Eat Move Bloom with the desire to help women before and after their pregnancies maintain a healthy body. With such admirable motivations we think she definitely deserves everything on the list!
