Reviews

Not worth the price

"Pros: quiet, warranty claim process pretty smooth, decent output for me Cons: One pump stopped charging within a couple weeks of light use (replaced under warranty though!) They regularly had false alarms for being full, even though they were never more than half full. It is hard to keep the two pumps synched with each other which is very overstimulating for me. This is especially true because I felt like I had to pay attention to them to make sure one didn’t stop because of the sensor issue. The time between low power warning and pump shutting off is way less than a normal pumping session, so you can’t just rely on the warnings."

Inconsistent. Wish I could return

"I purchased the Elvie before my baby was born. At the recommendation of my lactation consultant, I waited to use a wearable pump until 8 weeks, putting me now outside of the warranty and return window. I’ve used the pump daily for two weeks and have regularly had issues with the pumps connecting to the app. I often have to go through the full process of setting up the pump as though it were new. Also, 3 times one of the pumps has turned off because it was “full” but it only removed 3 ounces. Tonight, one of the pumps leaked all over me. Most frustratingly, the measurements on the bottles are incorrect. I regularly will pour from the pump straight into a bottle and it’s always less milk than the Elvie bottle states it is. When the pump works, it is comfortable and quiet."

Love!

"I love these wearable pumps! I got my first pair as a “hammy down” from a friend. When the motors finally died, I did a ton of research on which pumps to purchase. I decided to get the Elvie Pump again because I loved it so much. It is easy to use, quiet, and effective! The only bummer is that the milk containers get full and auto stop at 3 ounces even though they can hold 5 ounces. I also wish there were less parts to wash. Even still, I am incredibly satisfied with this pump!"

It gets the job done for moms on the go

"I initially purchased the Spectra, and I do think it’s a fantastic pump. However, after a few weeks of feeling tied down while pumping, I found myself getting frustrated with how difficult it was to multitask. The Elvie has been a game changer for me in that regard. I’m able to continue being productive at home and care for my baby while pumping, which was very difficult to do with a pump like the Spectra. The freedom and convenience have made a huge difference for me. I also like that I can put a timer on my pumping session via the phone app and the pumps stop upon reaching that time. I am taking off one star, however, because the breast milk measurements shown in the app after each pumping session are extremely inaccurate. In my experience, they have never been accurate—not even once. I honestly almost wish the feature wasn’t included because I end up measuring my milk myself every time anyway. Also I don’t like that a pump like this, at its price point, has the old charging port that fits an android charger. I wish it was more modernized with the USB-C cable that has become the standard. For a pump of $550, I would expect it to be more modern. It’s a little inconvenient considering all the chargers in our home are USB-C. Overall, I like the Elvie and would recommend it for anyone looking for the convenience and freedom of a wearable pump, as long as you don’t mind the inaccurate milk measurements and inconvenience of using old charging cables. (I haven’t tried other wearable pumps, so I have nothing else to compare it to except my Spectra)."

Game changer

"I was getting so tired of wasting the little time I had while baby slept sitting down and pumping using my traditional pump. Switching to the hands free Elvie has been hugely helpful, b/c it lets me clean up the kitchen, wash bottles, feed baby, etc. Or, honestly, just sit and read a book for a few minutes. My only complaint is that the milk reservoirs are on the small side. Sometimes I feel like I have more milk that needs to be expressed but the little pods are full, and I’m too tired or lazy to empty them, wash them, and start again."

Kimberly S. (4/5)

Life Saver

"So nice to have a hands free option to pump and still be able to get stuff done. The volume estimates are not usually accurate, and the bottle is often not full when it says it is; rather, I’ve just bent over which makes it think it’s full. But not a dealbreaker."

LOVE

"this is my only pump. I used it with my first and now using with my second. there are things in this pump I took for granted that others don’t have. 1. it’s super convenient- very discreet, minimal leakage and easy to use 2. hygienic - I LOVE that I don’t touch anywhere the milk touches, I didn’t realize all other pumps were not like this. 3. easy to clean - I love the plastic parts - they feel cleaner and only having 5 parts to clean it so easy! 4. love the app- I like that it attempts to track ounces even though it’s not 100% accurate it gives me the assurance that milk is indeed coming, and I love that it can track ounces and am able to save my own settings."

"Frequent issues with suction and poor battery quality. Have to charge after 3-4 sessions."

Best Output Yet

"I thought wearables just didn’t work for me, but I decided to give Elvie a try for the smart algorithms. I’m glad I did because I’m getting an extra ounce on each side compared to my wall pump. It’s quiet enough that I’m okay with pumping in public and comfortable enough that I don’t dread my next session. I wish I had taken the chance sooner."

Simply amazing

"Bought it for my Wife as a Mother's Day gift. She absolutely love it over what she previously had. It is super quiet, great suction, and super easy to use/clean. She has been using them in public and in front of other people and they have no idea she is pumping!"
